| When
we start out making canes, it's confusing. Instructions tell us to make
things assuming we already know what they are. This tutorial will show
some of the components that go into making canes. I hope this helps you
understand better. This month, we will make the eye. |

Iris
In the center is a white dot
for the sparkle in the iris. (I should have made this a lot bigger) This
is surrounded by black clay rolled into a log. Next is a Skinner Blend
of light to medium brown clay for the iris.
Note: The white dot is way
too small for the size of the eye. I was too tired when I made it. Normally
it would be about 1/4 the size of the black log. |

Whites of the Eyes
Make a triangle out of white
clay that is twice the length of the iris cane. Cut in half. Push the inside
of each half against your finger to round it and place it against one side
of the iris. Repeat with the other half. Wrap the whole thing in black.
I did straighten up the triangle before using it. |
Let
eye cane rest and firm up while you go on
to the next section of the
face. |
