1. Roll out two 1" balls of scrap
clay. Roll a sheet of black clay at #1 setting of pasta machine and cut out with
square cutters.
5. Two lovely cones ready to become
horns.
2. Lay one square on ball of scrap clay. Add
second square, lining up seams. Smooth.
6. Make a Skinner blend using your choice of
colors. Slice off a thin strip and attach one end to top of cone.
3. With acrylic or glass square begin rolling
ball into cone. Press more on one side than the other to make the cone.
7. Turn cone as you let
your strip of blend clay wrap around horn.
You can back up if necessary to make more stripes. Use all of strip or just a
bit.
4. Use finger to smooth as necessary and make
cone more pointy.
8.Both cones bent to desired angle and striped.
As you can see, Hava began and ended both strips with the same color in the
blend.
If you like, you can smoosh in a
large bobby pin to the bottoms of the horns a la Desiree McCrorey (click here to
see her tute) OR Poke holes near the bottom and thread stretchy cord through to
wear as you would a headband OR after baking, super glue to a clear headband.
