The (sad) End

As with most things in life, I encountered problems. The smashing of the
shell just before the last step gave me the challenge of repairing it and hoping
it wouldn't show. I used a dab of TLS here and there and baked the ripple
cane slices over it and crossed my fingers.

You Picked:

(Top 4 choices)

          • #3 Texture
          • #4 Make beads from leftover clay
          • #7 Use signature Cane
          • #8 Use foiled clay for edges.
Now you've read about the smashing of the shell.
I attempted repairs with Krazy Glue and it didn't hold, so I used some TLS and baked. It still cracked after removal from the oven. (This meant I couldn't use texture on the purse. Sorry about that, folks.)
More details in the summary.

The purse has just come out of the oven and we have a total disaster, folks. I knew I was taking the risk by doing this in front of the whole polymer clay community. The details are in the Summary

From  Jan VanDonkelaar

Hi,
I thought that you might be interested to see some of the heart shaped amulets I have made with a heart shaped rock as the base.   Mine are plain inside with various outside finishes.  Keep on the way you are going and you will have a beautiful rock purse in a few more steps!  Thanks for sharing your adventure with us all.

Regards,
Jan V
