Latest layer.

The mound/hill took forever to dry and when it did, the top layers had pulled away at the edges. The main piece is stuck down, just the edges are sticking up.

I yelled for help and mentor Stolloween suggested that I put a layer of strips over it. Sound like such a duh, but I just never thought of it. So here's the strips. That will dry for a day and if it works, I'll add more pulp, then cover the wet pulp with strips.

After consulting with friends here and in the UK, it seems that the

paper pulp was too wet and the flour paste hadn't been cooked down enough.

Now I'm trying a new recipe that uses coffee and cornstarch.

Yesterday's layers have dried, and adding strips seems to work well. Addedmore pulp covered with strips today. At the tallest point, it's now 6 1/8" tall.
