Travels

March 21, 2008

We were actually looking for the Farmer's Market downtown but
couldn't find it because the website information was out of date.

T was going to be taking dinner to his dad in a short time, and

that was only about a mile away, so it seemed like a waste of

gas to go all the way home...so-o-o we played tourist.

It's fun to play tourist when your home town is San Diego.

Seaport Village

I hadn't been here in a long time and was struck by the changing skyline. The changes seem to be coming so fast, I thought I'd document how it looks on this date. We're standing at the edge of the parking lot, facing east.

Yup, there's a lot of space around the subject. Done on purpose so if it's another 10 years til I get down here, I will see how much it has filled up.

They don't lean like this..just distortion from being so close to such tall subjects trying to get them both in the pic. The smilin' roomie

Horton Plaza

Haven't been here in several years either. For a native San Diegan, I don't get around much. This place is custom-made for pics with color and angles. Anyone who was here when it was first built, as I was, will see how the bright colors have faded or been replaced with more muted tones.

Note to self:

Come back some morning to get

better colors in some places.

Whenever possible, I've included glimpses of downtown San Diego.

With all the changes in the economy, some of the businesses here are likely to fail or move to less expensive locations. Many of the pics are documenting just how it is today. It will also be fun to see how fashions change.
