beadyeyedbrat Miniature Hedge

In the ongoing quest to make the best village possible, I am experimenting

with making hedges out of bagged moss from the dollar store, hot melt glue, cardboard

and some cut-up scrubbie pads. The idea for using the pads came from elsewhere.

This is my take on the idea.

The side of a Cheerios box was cut off, then cut in half and glued together. A scrubbie was cut into thirds and two pieces were placed side-by-side and glued together. That pieces was glued to the cardboard strip. Moss was added from the bottom up.

My expensive work surface is the inside of the cereal box.

When both sides were covered to the top, I let it rest for about 15 minutes and brushed off any pieces that weren't stuck tight and filled in holes. Think I used 2 glue sticks.
Done. Once I know where I'll put it, there may be some trimming of cardboard around the bottom or some more moss added to hide any edges. Finished size 12". It's standing on its own without tipping over.

Cost

$1.00  Moss (and I only used a fraction of the bag)
